The Tandem is the cheapest grinder we could find that does not force a choice between espresso and filter. 41 clicks sounds coarse on paper; in practice clicks 1–8 are espresso, 12–20 cover every pour-over, and 28+ is press territory.
It is a stepped grinder, which means it is repeatable — you can write your setting down and return to it. Stepless grinders are finer-grained and far more annoying to live with.
Retention is about 0.4 g. That is not zero, and anyone claiming zero is measuring differently. Single-dose it and give the body a knock and you will not notice.
